Kodama - Japanese Forest Spirits

Oh Lordie these whimsical little guys make me smile every time I see them! Kodama come from Japanese folklore. It is said that the Kodama live in the trees and protect the forests. If properly cared for they are thought to keep the land and forests fertile, and bring luck. They don't often leave their tree, but when they do you might spot them as a tiny glowing human light orb in the forest. Protectors yes, but don't anger them or harm their tree or bad luck will definitely follow! I've mounted these to stones and some have preserved moss...just for fun. They are approximately 1.5 inches tall and yes, they glow in the dark! *there are a bunch available at the gallery...will keep updating here as I can :)
